Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Diagnose and classify groin hernias based on clinical presentation and anatomical landmarks.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of groin anatomy and embryology relevant to inguinal and femoral hernias.
  3. Differentiate between direct, indirect, sliding, and femoral hernias, and understand their respective surgical risks.
  4. Perform essential surgical skills, including knot tying, laparotomy simulation, and hernia repair using local anesthesia.
  5. Apply principles of aseptic technique, patient assessment, and informed consent in surgical care.
  6. Evaluate and reflect on their own performance and that of peers through structured assessment tools.
