Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Diagnose and classify groin hernias based on clinical presentation and anatomical landmarks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of groin anatomy and embryology relevant to inguinal and femoral hernias.
- Differentiate between direct, indirect, sliding, and femoral hernias, and understand their respective surgical risks.
- Perform essential surgical skills, including knot tying, laparotomy simulation, and hernia repair using local anesthesia.
- Apply principles of aseptic technique, patient assessment, and informed consent in surgical care.
- Evaluate and reflect on their own performance and that of peers through structured assessment tools.
